Pepperstone Review

Fees, Spreads, Regulation, Pros & Cons 2026

By InvestingFXWeb Editorial Team Fact-checked Last updated: September 2026

Verdict at a Glance

Pepperstone is a multi-award-winning Australian broker that delivers an excellent all-round trading experience. With Razor spreads from 0.0 pips, no requotes, four platform options (MT4, MT5, cTrader, TradingView), and four-tier regulation (ASIC, FCA, CySEC, DFSA), it is a strong choice for both intermediate and advanced traders. It suits scalpers and day traders who need fast execution and reliable infrastructure. It is less suited to traders seeking bonuses (none offered in most regions) or beginners who need extensive educational content. The inactivity fee after 12 months is a notable drawback for casual traders.

Four regulatory jurisdictions: ASIC (Licence 414530), FCA (Licence 684312), CySEC, and DFSA — one of the strongest frameworks.

FCA regulation includes FSCS protection up to £85,000 for UK clients, the highest investor protection available.

Costs90/100

No deposit or withdrawal fees. Inactivity fee of $15/month after 12 months is a drawback for occasional traders.

Support87/100

Client Fund Protection

Client funds are held in segregated trust accounts at AA-rated Australian and UK banks, completely separate from Pepperstone's operating capital. As an FCA-regulated broker, UK client funds are protected by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS) up to £85,000 per client in the event of broker insolvency. The broker complies with ASIC, FCA, CySEC, and DFSA capital adequacy requirements and undergoes regular external audits. SSL encryption and two-factor authentication protect all account access.

Negative Balance Protection

Yes — Pepperstone provides negative balance protection for all retail clients across all jurisdictions. This is mandatory under FCA and CySEC regulations and is also provided voluntarily under ASIC regulation. You can never lose more than your total deposit.

Bonuses & Promotions

Pepperstone does not offer welcome bonuses or deposit bonuses in most regions due to regulatory restrictions (FCA and ASIC prohibit most bonus types). The broker occasionally runs limited-time trading competitions and seasonal offers where permitted. The Active Trader program offers reduced commission rates for high-volume clients — those trading 500+ lots per month can negotiate custom pricing. This approach is consistent with Pepperstone's positioning as a professional broker rather than a bonus-driven one.

Trading Conditions

Pepperstone offers two pricing models. The Standard account has no commission and spreads from 1.0 pip on EUR/USD. The Razor account charges $3.50 per lot per side but delivers ECN spreads from 0.0 pips — total round-turn cost on EUR/USD averages $7-9 including commission. Maximum leverage is 1:500 for retail clients under ASIC, and up to 1:500 under FCA (though FCA caps retail leverage at 1:30 for major forex pairs). Scalping, hedging, and Expert Advisors are all fully supported. Execution is market-order based with no requotes — Pepperstone uses a no-dealing-desk model that routes orders directly to liquidity providers. Spreads are variable and may widen during major news events, which is standard for ECN pricing.

Overnight Swap (Rollover) Fees

Overnight swap (rollover) fees apply on all accounts except Islamic (swap-free) accounts. Swap rates are published daily and vary by instrument. Triple swap is charged on Wednesdays for forex pairs. Islamic accounts are available on request and charge no overnight swap, complying with Sharia finance principles.

Deposits & Withdrawals

Pepperstone supports Visa, Mastercard, PayPal, Skrill, Neteller, POLi, BPAY, and bank wire for deposits. Most deposit methods are instant with no deposit fees. The minimum deposit is $200.

Withdrawals are processed within 24 hours during business days. E-wallet withdrawals (PayPal, Skrill, Neteller) are usually instant once processed. Card withdrawals take 2-5 business days. Bank wires take 1-3 business days. All withdrawals must go to accounts in your name. Pepperstone does not charge withdrawal fees. ID verification is required before the first withdrawal.

Education & Research

Pepperstone provides a decent educational section including trading guides, video tutorials, and market analysis. However, the educational content is not as extensive as brokers like XM or AvaTrade that specialise in beginner education. For experienced traders, the educational resources are supplementary rather than essential.

Pepperstone offers 24/5 customer support via live chat, email, and phone. Support is available in English and multiple other languages. Live chat response times are typically under 5 minutes. Email responses are usually received within 4-8 hours. Phone support is available via Australian and UK numbers. The support team is generally knowledgeable and helpful. The main gap is the lack of 24/7 support — IC Markets and Exness both offer round-the-clock service.

Final Verdict

Pepperstone is an excellent all-round broker that combines strong regulation, fast execution, diverse platforms, and competitive pricing. Its four-tier regulatory framework (ASIC, FCA, CySEC, DFSA) is among the strongest in the industry, and the FSCS protection for UK clients adds an extra layer of safety. The $200 minimum deposit and inactivity fee may deter casual traders, but for active traders who value reliability and regulatory strength, Pepperstone is a top choice. Our overall score of 90/100 reflects its position as one of the most trusted brokers in the industry.

Great for EA trading with DupliTrade

Running 3 EAs on Pepperstone Razor account via MT4. Execution is fast and reliable. I also use DupliTrade for copy trading which Pepperstone integrates well. The Razor account commission is fair at $3.50/side. My only issue is that the cTrader platform occasionally disconnects during high volatility, requiring me to reconnect manually.

FCA regulated with excellent TradingView support

I chose Pepperstone specifically for the TradingView integration and FCA regulation. The Razor account gives me 0.0 pip spreads with $3.50/side commission — identical pricing to IC Markets but with FCA oversight and the FSCS £85,000 protection. TradingView charts are excellent and the integration is seamless. Withdrawals to UK bank accounts take 1-2 business days.

No weekend support is a problem

Pepperstone is a good broker overall but the lack of 24/7 support is a real issue for me. I had a margin issue on a Saturday and could not reach anyone until Monday. By then the market had moved against me. IC Markets and Exness both offer 24/7 support — Pepperstone needs to match this.

Good broker for my first year of trading

Pepperstone has been my first broker and I have been with them for about 10 months. The Standard account is simple — no commission, everything in the spread. The educational content helped me get started. I like that they are regulated by FCA and ASIC. The inactivity fee worried me but since I trade regularly it is not an issue.

Great for copy trading via DupliTrade

I use Pepperstone with DupliTrade for copy trading and it works well. The Razor account keeps costs low while I copy multiple strategies. Execution is fast and I have not experienced any requotes. The only issue is that DupliTrade requires a separate subscription which adds to costs. Support is helpful but only available 24/5.

TradingView integration is seamless

I trade exclusively through TradingView and Pepperstone is one of the few brokers that supports it properly. Charts load instantly, orders execute in under a second, and I can manage positions directly from the charts. The Razor account spreads are consistently tight. FCA regulation was a big factor for me — the FSCS protection up to £85,000 gives me confidence.

Good broker but inactivity fee is annoying

Pepperstone is a solid broker with good execution and a wide range of instruments. The cTrader platform works great and I like that they offer TradingView integration. My only complaint is the inactivity fee after 12 months — I was charged $50 when I took a break from trading. Also, the Standard account spreads are a bit wide compared to the Razor account. Would recommend the Razor account over Standard any day.

Excellent all-round broker

Pepperstone has been my go-to broker for 3 years. The Razor account gives me spreads from 0.0 pips on EURUSD with a reasonable commission. What sets them apart is the reliability — I have never experienced requotes or significant slippage even during NFP. The TradingView integration is seamless and withdrawals are always processed within 24 hours. FCA regulation gives me peace of mind. Best broker I have used.
